About Our Pastor
Dr. Kavin D. Dotson
Current
Dr. Kavin Donnell Dotson has been called as the sixth Pastor of the New Hope Baptist Church of Los Angeles.
A native of Los Angeles, Pastor Dotson accepted Christ as Lord and Savior at a very early age. He spent his formative years at New Hope participating in Sunday School, Jr. Brotherhood, Jr. Mission, Vacation Bible School, the Jr./Youth and Voices of Hope Choirs, and Youth and Young Adult retreats.
Education
Biblical Instruction
Pastor Dotson is a Spirit-Filled Baptized Believer and is licensed and ordained as a minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Dr. Dotson received biblical instruction and mentorship from our previous pastors, Dr. B. O. Byrd and Rev. J. Stewart McKnight.
California State University Long Beach
Dr. Dotson is a graduate of California State University Long Beach
Pepperdine University
Dr. Dotson is also a graduate of Pepperdine University
Adjunct Professor
In addition to Pastoring, he currently serves as an adjunct professor at several local colleges and has been a Director, overseeing schools in LAUSD and Lynwood Unified School District, and the Los Angeles County Office of Education.
